Villa on Lake Garda: Interior design and lighting

Overlooking the shores of Lake Garda, this elegant villa is the focus of an interior renovation project designed by the architectural firm Annunziata Forte & Cristina Di Marzio, with structural input from engineer Loris Ravazzolo.

The project completely redefined the living spaces, from the layout of the rooms to the design of custom furniture, materials, and finishes.

The result is a contemporary home that combines bold volumes, decorative details, and a careful selection of materials, creating a balance that reflects the owners’ personalities.

The spacious and bright living area is organized around a striking fireplace wall featuring a custom bookshelf, while large windows open the interior onto the terrace overlooking the lake, creating a continuous dialogue between architecture and landscape.

The dining area highlights the contrast between vintage 1970s chairs and a glass table with a steel base, blending nostalgia with contemporary style.

The kitchen was also custom-designed, featuring a refined marble floor, while volcanic oak characterizes the other rooms in the home, including the bathrooms, where wood, marble, and custom mosaics create a play of contrasts and surfaces rich in character.

The design of the decorative lighting played a fundamental role in defining the atmosphere of the sleeping area. For this project, Ecos was chosen—one of Vistosi’s most iconic collections—featured in a custom finish for both the pendant and wall-mounted versions.

Ecos, designed by Renato Toso, Noti Massari & Associati, stems from the fusion of the Murano blown-glass tradition and a contemporary aesthetic. The shade is crafted from hand-worked crystal glass and stands out for its organic shape, composed of two overlapping elements that seem to merge into a single volume. The unique surface treatment creates an irregular texture that captures and diffuses light, generating soft reflections and ever-changing shades.

The light source, enclosed within the diffuser, is diffused by the glass to produce uniform, warm, and enveloping lighting that enhances both residential and hospitality spaces. In this project, the custom version of Ecos harmoniously complements the volcanic oak, marble, and other interior materials, helping to create an elegant and welcoming atmosphere without compromising the lamp’s sculptural character.

In this installation, the custom shade from the collection complements the volcanic oak, marble, and other interior materials, while the light enhances the spaces and the view of Lake Garda, becoming an integral part of the architectural design.
