The elegance of the balance between light and matter

Set within a sophisticated residential project in Bucharest, Romania, the Armonia SP 50 stands out as the focal point of the space, interpreting light through an elegant and contemporary design language. Selected by ISRA Design for this project, completed in 2022, the pendant light enhances the space with its striking presence and its ability to cast a warm, enveloping glow.

The project highlights the expressive power of the Armonia collection, which blends naturally into contemporary settings thanks to the balance between clean lines, premium materials and handcrafted details.

Designed by Francesco Lucchese, Armonia stems from a desire to reinterpret the heritage of Venetian glassmaking tradition through a contemporary sensibility. A vision that led the collection to receive an Honourable Mention at the 2020 Compasso d’Oro, an accolade that highlights its design value and ability to combine innovation, design culture and master craftsmanship.

The composition features glass cylinders that interact with the metal ring encircling them, creating a refined interplay of geometry, transparency and reflections. A formal balance that gives the lamp a light yet distinctive presence, capable of enriching the space without dominating it.

The tradition of glass as a design element

One of the most distinctive features of the collection lies in the use of historic Murano glass-making techniques. The surfaces come to life through techniques such as ‘balloton’, which creates a distinctive criss-cross relief that enhances the perception of light, and ‘rigadin’, the traditional striped pattern that produces striking refractive effects.

These artisanal details lend depth and character to the glass, transforming each piece into a perfect synthesis of tradition and innovation. The light is thus diffused softly and evenly, helping to create a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere.

In the Bucharest project, Armonia confirms its ability to adapt to different architectural contexts, becoming not just a light source but a true piece of furniture. The combination of craftsmanship, quality materials and design research fully expresses Vistosi’s identity, where blown glass becomes a tool for dialogue between space, light and emotion.
