Located on the lush North Shore, the Modern House exemplifies the influence that major architectural styles exert on contemporary design. The result of a collaboration between architect Matt Carlisle and the interior design firm Karen Akers, this residence was conceived to harmonize with the nearby P+O House, a protected building and an integral part of the local cultural heritage. The balance between contemporary design and traditional references is also reflected in the choice of furnishings and lighting.

In this context, Alega—an iconic creation by Vico Magistretti—has been incorporated; it is a lamp that elegantly interprets the dialogue between past and present. Its design combines retro inspiration with a timeless vision of the classic: the transparent base visually lightens the structure, while the white shade diffuses a soft, enveloping light, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
