SCINTILLA

Giovanni Barbato was born in Padua in 1974. His design education is extensive and comprehensive: he attended industrial design courses in Padua, studied glassmaking techniques at the Abate Zanetti School in Murano, and later attended the University of Architecture in Venice. From a very young age, he cultivated a passion for glass, and while at school, he immediately came into contact with the prestigious local glassworks, establishing partnerships and collaborations that saw him, from a very young age, design artistic projects for numerous companies on the island of Murano. Thanks to his experience in the field, he became one of the leading designers in the lighting scene, as well as in Italy. The designer's artistic touch has unique characteristics that set it apart in the industry: his forms are very simple and essential, clean and unique, designed to recreate perfect movement within the overall geometry. Since 2013, he has collaborated not only with the lighting sector, with brands such as VISTOSI, AXOLIGHT, DE MAJO, AV MAZZEGA, PRANDINA, and AV LIGHT, but also designs for other sectors. That same year, he was among the winners of the Good Design Award with the Spiry lamp.
