NOVECENTO

Michele Romani and Mauro Saccani were both born in 1970 in Milan. After graduating in industrial design from the Istituto Statale d'Arte in Monza, they earned a degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1998. They founded the design studio ROMANI SACCANI ARCHITETTI ASSOCIATI in 1999. Together, they worked on a thesis for the redevelopment and landscape enhancement of the historic settlement of "Le cinque corti di Bernate" in the municipality of Arcore, which was recognized as a positive experience by the Lombardy Region in 2009. After collaborating as freelancers with several architectural firms in the Milanese hinterland and participating in various design and architecture competitions (in 1999, they won third prize in the competition for the renovation and expansion of the Ornago Municipality headquarters with the project "Il cubo e la piazza"), they are now increasingly focused on product design and their clients include numerous collaborations with design companies in the lighting, furniture, and interior design sectors.
