Born in Venice on October 14, 1949, Paolo Crepax is one of Murano's most respected master glassmakers, capable of transforming the age-old tradition of blown glass into a personal and contemporary language of expression. An artist, designer, and master glassmaker, he has dedicated his entire life to researching the potential of glass, developing works in which technical virtuosity and artistic sensitivity coexist in a rare balance. For Crepax, design stems from a desire to transcend the limits of the material, creating forms that seem to defy gravity and transforming technical perfection into a visual emotion.

His journey began very early. At just ten years old, he entered the world of glass, learning the secrets of glassmaking from master Livio Seguso. At sixteen, Fulvio Scarpa entrusted him with overseeing his first project as a master glassmaker. These experiences allowed him to acquire a profound understanding of the material and Murano techniques, developing a mastery of craftsmanship that would become the foundation of his creative pursuits.

In 1979, he founded Filigrana, a company dedicated to the production of artistic glass, which helped establish his name internationally. His creations, characterized by refined filigree workmanship and continuous formal experimentation, reinterpret one of the most iconic techniques of the Murano tradition with a contemporary twist, highlighting the lightness, transparency, and extraordinary plasticity of glass.
