Project
Project developed in collaboration with the client Reflex Lighting and the Boston-based design firm Visnick & Caulfield Associates, using Vistosi collections to create sophisticated, welcoming environments seamlessly integrated with the architecture of the spaces.
Founded in 1990, Visnick & Caulfield Associates is one of Boston’s most prestigious interior design and architecture firms. With more than 34 years of experience, over 350 projects completed each year, and hundreds of loyal clients, the studio is renowned for its innovative and highly personalized design approach. Its work focuses on creating spaces that enhance the way people live and work, with a constant commitment to balancing aesthetics, functionality, and well-being.

In the elevator lobby, wall sconces from the Giogali collection in smoked crystal were selected to complement the refined wallpaper and the material palette that defines the entire project. The soft light filtering through the crystal creates an elegant and enveloping atmosphere, transforming a transitional area into a distinctive and sophisticated space that immediately conveys the character of the architectural design.
Designed in 1967 by Angelo Mangiarotti for Vistosi, Giogali is one of the brand’s most iconic collections and a landmark project in the history of decorative lighting. The collection redefined the use of glass in lighting through an innovative modular system based on a single hand-crafted crystal element, designed to be endlessly replicated and interconnected. This visionary concept gives rise to fluid, sculptural compositions reminiscent of luminous cascades, capable of adapting naturally to both classic and contemporary interiors.
The balance between craftsmanship and modularity makes Giogali exceptionally versatile. Each crystal element reflects and diffuses light with subtle elegance, creating visual depth, dynamic reflections, and a refined interplay of light and shadow. Within this project, the wall sconces become an integral part of the interior architecture, enhancing the verticality of the space and guiding movement through a luminous presence that is both discreet and highly scenic. The smoked crystal adds further richness and materiality to the composition, bringing a sophisticated contemporary elegance to the environment.

The project is completed by Balance, a suspension lamp designed by Pio Toso and Tito Toso for Vistosi. Selected to enhance the architectural dimension of the interiors, it brings an essential, elegant, and contemporary luminous presence to the space. Suspended with a sense of lightness, the fixture engages in a refined dialogue with the surrounding architecture through its pure lines and harmonious proportions, helping to define the atmosphere with subtlety and sophistication.
Venetian architects and designers, Pio and Tito Toso founded their studio, PIO&TITOTOSO, in 1996. Internationally recognized for their multidisciplinary approach, they seamlessly combine architecture, product design, and formal research. Their long-standing collaboration with Vistosi has resulted in numerous iconic collections, all characterized by a contemporary design language that reinterprets the tradition of blown glass through essential and innovative forms.
Inspired by the harmonious movement of planets orbiting the sun, Balance explores the concept of equilibrium through a dynamic and sophisticated composition in which glass and light appear to float effortlessly in space. The slender structure enhances the visual lightness of the design, while the glass diffuses a soft, even glow that amplifies the perception of depth and openness within the interiors.
More than a functional lighting element, the suspension becomes a distinctive architectural feature capable of creating a refined focal point within the project. The geometric purity of its forms and the delicacy of its composition contribute to a contemporary and sophisticated atmosphere, perfectly aligned with the overall design language of the intervention and with the careful balance pursued in every detail.
