Another major milestone for Vistosi: Anisette, the collection designed by Francesco Lucchese, has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2024, thereby officially entering the process leading up to the Compasso d’Oro 2026, one of the most prestigious international design awards.
The selection, curated by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory, recognises Anisette as one of the projects that best embody the quality, research and innovation of contemporary Italian design. The collection will take centre stage at the exhibition dedicated to the ADI Design Index 2024, which opens on 30 October 2024 at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, and will also be featured in the ADI’s prestigious annual publication.
Anisette’s inclusion in the ADI Design Index is part of a journey in which Vistosi has been a leading figure on the Italian design scene for years.
Back in 2006, the Diadema collection, designed by Romani Saccani Architetti Associati, had been selected by the ADI. In 2016, it was the turn of Nodo, designed by Pio and Tito Toso, whilst in 2020 Vistosi received two honourable mentions for Armonia by Francesco Lucchese and Medea by Oriano Favaretto.
With Anisette, Vistosi thus reaffirms its presence in the ADI Design Index, confirming a journey characterised by research, design culture and the ability to reinterpret the Murano glass-making tradition through a contemporary lens.

Designed by Francesco Lucchese, a designer who has previously been awarded the Compasso d’Oro, Anisette is the result of a fusion between Vistosi’s artisanal tradition and design research focused on experimentation.
Inclusion in the ADI Design Index represents a significant accolade for the collection and for the company’s work, which has always combined craftsmanship, innovation and design culture to create lighting solutions that engage with contemporary architecture and spaces.
However, Anisette is not the only Vistosi collection to have been shortlisted: Plissé and Groove also took part in the evaluation process, standing out for their design quality, research and innovative approach.
Being included in the ADI Design Index means being part of a selection that, each year, provides a snapshot of excellence in Italian design and constitutes the first step towards the ADI Compasso d’Oro, which is awarded every two years.
For Vistosi, the inclusion of Anisette in the selection therefore represents not only a significant accolade, but also a new milestone in a journey that has linked the brand to Italian design culture for many years.
Anisette has thus officially embarked on its journey towards the 2026 Compasso d’Oro, embodying Vistosi’s identity: a glassmaking tradition deeply rooted in the local area and a constant drive towards research and innovation.
The ADI Design Index 2024 exhibition was on display at the ADI Design Museum in Milan from 30 October to 17 November 2024, before moving on to Rome, where it was held at Spazio WeGil from 25 to 30 November 2024.

Francesco Lucchese is an architect, designer and art director who has been a leading figure on the international design scene for over thirty years. His work ranges from architecture to product design, from interior design to the design of lighting systems and solutions, centring his research on the relationship between form, material, light and space.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading Italian and international companies, designing collections that stand out for an approach which combines technological innovation, functionality and aesthetic exploration. This design philosophy is not limited to defining form, but views the product as an integral part of its surroundings, in constant dialogue with the architecture and the people who live there.
His career has been marked by numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, one of the highest honours in the world of Italian design. This achievement bears witness to the consistency of his creative exploration and his ability to develop projects in which innovation and design philosophy come together.
The collaboration with Vistosi stems from a particular affinity between Lucchese’s design sensibility and the company’s culture, which is deeply rooted in glassmaking and the Murano tradition. This dialogue has given rise to several collections over the years, and finds one of its most recent expressions in the Anisette collection.
For Anisette, Lucchese takes the very characteristics of glass as his starting point to explore its formal and luminous possibilities, transforming the material into an element capable of defining space as well as diffusing light. The project thus interprets tradition through a minimalist and contemporary language, where transparency, volume and reflections combine to create a dynamic and sophisticated lighting experience.
It is precisely in the convergence of the designer’s vision and Vistosi’s expertise that Anisette finds its identity: a contemporary design that preserves the value of craftsmanship whilst, at the same time, embracing experimentation and new possibilities in design. Its inclusion in the ADI Design Index 2024 represents further recognition of this synthesis, setting Anisette on the path towards the Compasso d’Oro 2026.
