For the Lazari Investments headquarters in London, Vistosi created Summer Rain, a site-specific light installation that transforms blown glass into a tale of light, movement, and emotion.

Designed to interact with the building's architecture and its monumental entrance staircase, the project interprets one of nature's most evocative phenomena: summer rain illuminated by the sun.

The result is a work that transcends the function of illumination to become an integral part of the space, leading the visitor through an immersive experience where matter, light, and architecture merge into a single narrative.

The inspiration comes from that suspended moment when the rain continues to fall while the sun filters through the clouds, making each drop shine like a tiny fragment of gold. A fleeting image, capable of evoking lightness, calm, and wonder, which is translated into a design language of transparency, reflections, and movement.

From this inspiration, a luminous composition takes shape, bringing the poetry of a natural phenomenon into the architecture, transforming it into a constantly evolving visual experience.

The installation unfolds along the monumental stone staircase that characterizes the building's entrance, accompanying its progression with a cascade of 250 blown glass drops, each handcrafted by Murano master glassmakers.

Suspended at different heights, the drops seem to float in space, recreating the spontaneous rhythm of rain and establishing a constant dialogue with the architectural lines of the space. The composition continually changes depending on the vantage point, offering ever-changing perspectives and transforming the journey up the staircase into a dynamic perceptual experience.

Each element interprets the material in a unique way, enhancing the infinite expressive possibilities of blown glass.

92 drops enclose precious gold dust, while 158 contain delicate air bubbles, generated during the manufacturing process. This alternation creates an extraordinary variety of reflections, depth, and transparency, making each piece unique.

Light passes through the glass, enhancing its textures and amplifying its three-dimensionality, creating a sparkling effect reminiscent of raindrops illuminated by the sun's rays.
