Vistosi is once again taking part in the IF Design Award, one of the most prestigious and long-established international design awards, with five collections: Anisette, Faro, Groove, Plissé and Riketta.
Founded in 1953 by the Industrie Forum Design in Hanover, the IF Design Award has been an international benchmark for design culture for over seventy years. Every year, a jury of experts from around the world assesses thousands of entries, recognising projects that stand out for their design quality, innovation, functionality, aesthetics and commitment to sustainability.
For Vistosi, this is a particularly significant accolade: the company had already been honoured in 2019 for Jube, the collection designed by Favaretto & Partners. In 2025, five new collections will be put to the test by the international jury, confirming Vistosi’s commitment to bringing the tradition of Murano glass into a contemporary design language.

Conceived by Francesco Lucchese, Anisette stems from research into the expressive qualities of ‘lattimo’ glass, a material with a characteristic milky-white hue which, thanks to its soft and luminous surface, becomes the defining feature of the entire collection.
The inspiration stems from an everyday gesture and its visual transformation: diluting aniseed-flavoured liqueurs with water produces a distinctive change in colour, making the liquid progressively more opaque and milky. It is precisely this phenomenon that gave Francesco Lucchese the idea for a lamp capable of translating the transition from transparency to opacity into glass, through a delicate interplay of shapes and shades.
The collection comprises two blown-glass diffusers, characterised by a white gradient that accentuates their depth and textural quality. The two elements can be combined in four different configurations, creating a different balance each time between solid and void, overlaps and contrasts. The ability to alter the relationship between the light fittings makes Anisette a dynamic collection, capable of taking on different configurations depending on the space and the way it is perceived.
Glass thus becomes the true focal point of the design: light passes through the surfaces, emphasising their nuances and creating an ever-changing perception of the composition. The final effect evokes the transformation of the liquid from transparent to milky, conveying a delicate and sophisticated image through the light.
To complete the design, a specially designed mounting system allows the height of the light source to be adjusted and the position of the diffusers to be altered. This technical solution broadens the collection’s design possibilities and exemplifies the fusion of formal innovation and a focus on functionality.
With ‘Anisette’, Francesco Lucchese transforms a visual phenomenon into a lighting design, entrusting glass with the task of illustrating the metamorphosis of matter and demonstrating once again how traditional craftsmanship can become a tool for contemporary research and experimentation.

Designed by Chiaramonte & Marin, Plissé stems from research into lightness and the way light transforms our perception of matter. The concept draws inspiration from the soft, floating form of jellyfish, organisms characterised by an almost suspended movement and a natural elegance. This inspiration is translated into a generously proportioned light fitting, in which glass takes centre stage and becomes the focal point of a delicate balance between form, light and transparency.
The large blown-glass lampshade is characterised by a wide, enveloping umbrella-like shape that appears to float in the air with extreme lightness. Inside, it houses a fabric shade, an element that introduces a second material and creates a refined interplay between surfaces, textures and levels of transparency.
The presence of the fabric behind the glass creates a shifting visual effect: depending on the viewing angle and the intensity of the light, the surface of the diffuser reveals different nuances, depths and details. The glass therefore does more than simply diffuse the light; it becomes a truly expressive surface, capable of filtering and transforming it.
Particular attention has been paid to the choice of finishes and the possibility of personalising the lamp’s appearance. The diffuser is available in a range of shades, including dark amber, smoked, burnt earth, antique green and clear crystal, whilst the metal frame can be finished in satin-finished steel or matt bronze. These various combinations allow Plissé to take on different characters, ranging from a more sophisticated and understated presence to a more intense and dramatic one.
The LED technology, integrated into the structure, completes the design by offering efficiency and high-quality light without compromising the purity of the form. The result is a pendant light that can be used in a variety of settings, from residential to hospitality spaces, whilst always retaining a strong sculptural identity.
Plissé also stands as a significant example of Vistosi’s ability to combine contemporary design with artisanal expertise. The concept by Chiaramonte & Marin was developed through the joint efforts of the R&D department and Vistosi’s master glassmakers, transforming a design idea into a tangible product through the intricate process of blown glassmaking.
The collection has already received significant recognition on the international design scene, including the Archiproducts Design Award, and its nomination for the IF Design Award 2025 is part of a journey that confirms Plissé’s ability to interpret Murano glass through a contemporary language, characterised by material, light and lightness.

Designed by Oriano Favaretto, Riketta stems from an exploration of simplicity of form and the ability of glass to transform a basic element into a sculptural presence. The design draws inspiration from the shape of the egg – a primordial and instantly recognisable form – reinterpreted through contemporary proportions and a carefully balanced interplay between volume and structure.
The centrepiece of the collection is the white opal glass diffuser, crafted using traditional glass-making techniques and characterised by a smooth, uniform surface. Its pure form encloses the light source, transforming the diffuser into a light fixture that appears to float in space.
The glass shade is supported by a framework of slender metal rods, which complement its shape without weighing it down. The contrast between the visual lightness of the framework and the material presence of the glass creates a delicate balance, in which each element contributes to defining the lamp’s identity.
Riketta is available in a range of proportions, from the most compact and cosy configurations to the most slender and elongated ones. This variety allows you to create different arrangements and adapt the collection to a wide range of settings, whilst retaining the iconic character of the design.
The LED light source, integrated and concealed within the diffuser, enhances the purity of the form by hiding technical elements from view. The light is diffused through the opal glass in a soft and even manner, transforming the luminaire into a luminous, enveloping surface.
The result is a collection in which form, material and light coexist in a minimalist balance. Riketta thus embodies the vision of Oriano Favaretto and Vistosi, who seek a design capable of reducing the project to its fundamental elements, giving glass the leading role and light the task of revealing its form.
Through its formal simplicity and attention to construction details, Riketta represents a synthesis of Murano glass craftsmanship, design innovation and contemporary technology, confirming Vistosi’s ability to transform an archetypal form into a lighting fixture with a strong character.
