Chiaramonte & Marin

designer

Founded in 1989 by Alfredo Chiaramonte and Marco Marin, Chiaramonte & Marin is one of the most influential studios in contemporary Italian design. Born from the encounter between Chiaramonte's architectural training and Marin's artistic and design journey, the studio has built an identity over the years based on the fusion of disciplines, where industrial design, interior design, graphics, and materials research coexist in a coherent and recognizable language.

Their work is based on a profound attention to the industrial object, understood as a synthesis of function, technique, and emotion. Each project is born from the intersection of design culture, experimentation, and knowledge of production processes, with the goal of creating essential products capable of establishing an authentic dialogue with their users. The studio's multidisciplinary approach allows for the transfer of experience gained in different fields, transforming each project into an opportunity for research and innovation.

A distinctive element of their work is their relationship with Murano glass, developed through decades of collaboration with the island's historic furnaces. Their in-depth knowledge of glassblowing techniques and ongoing collaboration with master glassmakers have resulted in designs that combine artisanal tradition with a contemporary aesthetic. Glass thus becomes a living material, capable of expressing lightness, transparency, and depth through essential and refined forms.

The collaboration with Vistosi stems from a shared desire to showcase Murano blown glass through a design approach that combines research, innovation, and material culture. Over the years, Chiaramonte & Marin have designed numerous collections for the company, including Neochic, Plissé, Plot, Plot Frame, Riflesso, and Tread, each expressing a different interpretation of light and glass. Their creations are distinguished by a balance between formal rigor and experimentation, exploring transparencies, textures, and geometries with a contemporary and refined language. The result is a series of collections that showcase the mastery of Murano glass, transforming it into an element capable of interacting with architecture and space, reflecting the innovation and quality that have always distinguished Vistosi.
