Emmanuel Babled was born in France in 1967. In 1989, at the age of twenty-two, he graduated in industrial design from the IED. He gained his first experiences in Paris, where he immediately distinguished himself with his interior architecture and decoration projects for private homes, also working with several major French firms on furniture and homeware. In 1992, he opened his own studio in Milan, Emmanuel Babled Studio, and began designing for several Italian companies. His approach to design is based on the idea that a good project is the result of direct contact with the environment in which it is created. These are the main ingredients that determine the success of his design work. He remained there for eighteen years. Since 2001, he has collaborated as a visiting professor with the Domus Academy in Italy and the Design Academy in Eindhoven. In 2006, he was selected by the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan as director of the Glass and Venetian Art master's program. He currently resides in Lisbon, where he founded his own studio, Babled Design Lda. There, he works alongside a pan-European team and production network, collaborating with numerous European craft districts. Through these collaborations, he helps raise international visibility for the excellence of European craftsmanship, promoting its production to a global market of collectors, professionals, and connoisseurs.
